TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions apply to all voiceover services provided by Voice by Lucija (Lucija Lepšina s.p.). By booking or using my services, you agree to the terms below.

Initial consultation

Before starting any project, we’ll discuss your needs via email or phone. We will confirm scope, script status, usage, deadlines, delivery format and budget by email or call so I can quote accurately.

Pricing and fees

Rates are based on two main factors: the work involved and intended usage. 

Production factors include script length, performance, live direction, post, etc. The usage fee depends on where and how long the audio runs (e.g., internal, online, TV, radio, paid ads). Buyouts or license renewals can be added on request.

The GVAA Rate Guide can serve as a valuable resource for understanding voiceover fees, and we can use it as a starting point for our discussion.

License and ownership

All recordings remain my intellectual property. Upon full payment, I grant you a non-transferable license to use the recordings only for the media, territories and term we agreed in writing. Any new or extended usage requires a new license and fee. Unlicensed use is chargeable at the applicable usage rate plus costs.

Agreement to proceed

Written acceptance by email (or PO) forms the agreement. NDAs or contracts can be signed if required. Unless agreed otherwise in advance, I may show the finished work in my portfolio only after it is publicly released.

Script and recording process

Recording starts after I receive the final, approved script, creative direction instructions and any pronunciation notes (names, acronyms, brands, technical terms, non-Slovenian terms). If you need to direct the session (live directed session), we’ll arrange a time. Script edits after recording are billable.

Recording specification

All recordings are done in a acoustically treated, and soundproof voice over booth. By default, I record and edit voiceover tracks according to our standard specifications unless you request otherwise. You’ll receive:

• Uncompressed audio files
• Peaks at -3dB
• Edited audio with unnecessary breaths removed

Final files are delivered as 24-bit/48kHz WAV files via WeTransfer or as email attachement if file size allows.

Confidentiality

All scripts, recordings and project materials you share with me are treated as confidential. I do not share your content with third parties except when required to complete the project or when required by law.

Revisions

Performance or technical errors on my part are corrected free of charge. One round of performance revisions is included when requested within 7 days of first delivery, provided the script and direction have not changed. 

Script changes, added lines, timing changes to fit new picture, or new direction are billed at the standard pickup rate or a minimum studio fee. See the FAQ for the full revision policy.

AI and synthetic voice

To prevent any misunderstanding and address the impact of AI technology on our industry, the following terms and conditions specifically apply:

• You may not use the recordings, or any part of them, to train, create or simulate a voice model, synthetic voice or “digital double,” nor allow any third party to do so. 
• You may not run machine-learning, cloning or voice-conversion processes on the recordings. 
• No sublicensing, resale or transfer of the audio or voice rights is permitted without my written consent. 
• You must safeguard all recordings if storing them digitally.

I may seek injunctive relief in addition to damages for any breach of this clause.

Payment terms

Invoices are issued by Lucija Lepšina s.p. Payment is due by the date shown on the invoice. Usage rights are granted only when payment is received in full. A 22% VAT applies to Slovenian clients where applicable. Late payments may incur reasonable admin/interest charges.

Cancellations and rescheduling

If a confirmed session is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, a 50% cancellation fee may apply. If recording has already begun, the full production fee is payable. 

Refunds

Because voiceover work is custom, refunds are not available once recording has started. I will work with you on reasonable revisions within scope.

Confidentiality

Project materials are treated as confidential. Personal data is handled under my Privacy Policy.

Compliance and warranties

You confirm that you have the legal right to use all materials you provide, including scripts, claims, trademarks, music, and references. You are fully responsible for the content you supply. If any legal issues arise from your materials or from using the voiceover outside the agreed license, you accept full responsibility, and I will not be held liable.

Limitation of liability

My total liability for any claim related to this project is limited strictly to the amount you paid me for the project. I am not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost profits, production delays or business interruption.

Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control. We will agree a new timeline in good faith.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia. The competent courts in Slovenia have jurisdiction.
